A peak experience and top notch guide.
We took a tour through Addo Elephant National Park with Alan after being lucky enough to find him through a guidebook.
What a way to see the National Park and to see the Big 5!
Outside of the elephants (who seem to know him and come right up to his car – he’s like the elephant whisperer!), Alan knew exactly where to go and had taken the time in advance to scout out where to find the elusive Lions and other harder to find animals such as Hyenas and Buffalo.
He planned the perfect route for our day long trip (including a stop for heavenly coffee straight from his french press!) and insured we were off the beaten path and away from the tourists and busses that can frequent the typical watering holes of Addo.
Alan taught us so much about the Eastern Cape, the history of the people, animals, parks, flora and fauna that we came away with much much more than a game drive.
A definite must for anyone looking to get the most out of their day or insure that you get a lot of “bang for your buck” when visiting Addo or any of the parks in South Africa (apparently Alan also arranges drives and tours throughout the country).
