Excellent Tour of Addo
We arrived into Pt Elizabeth on the Seven Seas Explorer’s Inaugural visit at noon.
We had booked Alan for a private tour of Addo Elephant Reserve for 1pm. On disembarking Alan himself was there beside the ship waiting for our party. (This is important to book someone that has port access as it’s a fair walk to the outside area!)
Well we all settled into the 4WD comfortably and set out, quick stop by Alan for some of our group to go to the ATM and buy Billtong and we were well on our way.
Entry was in the Southern gate (buses had to take the long way round to the northern gate) meant more time in the park itself.
Well Alan knew exactly where and when to be at the right places also positioning our vehicle so we had excellent viewing. We were all astounded just how close we were to the animals. To this day one of our group maintains one of the elephants ‘winked’ at her!
Honestly we had elephants everywhere right from one only about 1 month old to old bulls. You could literally reach out and touch them from the vehicle. Addo is known for it’s high concentration of Elephants and didn’t disappoint along with other wildlife.
Alan was very through and was very knowledgeable on all subjects.
Vehicle was clean and well maintained. Alan was also conscious of time factor as we had to be back on board for a 9pm sailing.
Highly recommended if you are on a tight schedule as we were.
All in all an excellent day had by us all with numerous high points.
